The Story

Watermelon Ingrid F1 Grafted Vegetable Plants are specially bred to thrive and ripen in more northern climates, making them ideal for gardeners with limited space. This compact variety suits smaller growing areas and containers, producing almost seedless fruits up to 2kg in weight. Each fruit boasts a vibrant red centre and a deep green, attractively striped skin, with a high sugar content for perfect sweetness.

Grafted vegetable plants offer gardeners stronger, more vigorous growth and increased resistance to soil-borne pests and diseases, such as nematodes – particularly valuable if you grow in greenhouse border soil year after year where crop rotation is limited. The grafting process combines the best attributes of a species rootstock and a hybrid variety, producing healthier plants with heavier yields.

Although traditionally greenhouse grown, Ingrid F1 will also crop well outside when placed in a warm, sunny position. Supplied as well-established plants in 9cm pots, please note – do not remove the plastic grafting clip, as it will fall off naturally as the plant grows.
