The Story

Nematode All Purpose Fruit and Veg Protection 60sq.m contains a mix of Steinernema feltiae and Steinernema carpocapsae—microscopic parasitic worms that seek out a wide range of pests, then feed and multiply inside them to stop them damaging your plants. Nematodes are naturally found in soil—by using this product you are simply topping up the natural population.

This versatile treatment controls numerous pests including carrot root fly, cabbage root fly, cutworm, onion fly, caterpillars, gooseberry sawfly, thrips (May to October when temperature is above 12°C—for best results apply weekly for at least 5 applications), codling moth and oriental fruit moth (September to October, treats up to 16 trees—make 2 applications a fortnight apart), and ants (April to July when soil temperature is above 12°C).

Using this all-purpose treatment reduces the difficulty of identifying and controlling specific pest problems. Nematode products are renowned biological controls, providing many benefits over traditional gardening chemicals and are a key ally for organic gardeners. Suitable for use on fruit and vegetables—produce can be eaten straight after application.

Pest Treatment List: Root Aphids, Cabbage Maggot, Codling Moth, Daddy Long Legs/Crane Flies, Humpbacked (Phorid) Flies/Scuttle Flies, Onion Maggot, Pill Bug/Pill Woodlouse, Raspberry Crown Borer/Blackberry Clearwing Borer, Root Maggots/Cabbage Root Fly, Shore Flies, Thrips, Tobacco Cutworm, Fungus Gnats, Sweet Potato Weevil, Ants, Beet Armyworm, Fruit Flies, Wireworm, Cucumber Beetle, Leafminers.
